Tip #2: The Truth about Shampoo

Most of us don’t realize this but shampoo  can severely  damage your hair if it’s not used correctly. For example, if you have dry hair  get products that add moisture to your hair also try to avoid shampoos  that contain silicones, sulfates, and parabens. These chemicals weigh down your hair, suck moisture out of your hair, and can cause breakage. This is why it is very important to find shampoos for your hair type. Another problem that  most people don’t realize they do is  over shampoo their hair. Shampoo is used to remove any build up in your hair, but with that being said shampoo can remove natural oils that are essential for your hair. Without these natural oils, your hair will become brittle and break causing split ends, and you don’t want that so try to lay off shampoos altogether because most of them contain sulfates, silicones, and parabens.
Solution: I would recommend not using shampoo altogether and use a cleanser instead, a good cleanser would be DevaCurl No-Poo Decadence. If you don’t want to use a cleanser then you should use a natural shampoo that doesn’t contain sulfates, silicones, and parabens such as Cantu.

Awesome post! I once used aloe vera gel on my scalp while I had micro braids and it did a tremendous job with moisture. I wish more products would include pure aloe vera gel.
